Haircut Cowl
I got 10 inches cut off my hair back in January. My neck felt kind of cold after that. I know, I should have probably waited for warmer weather, but I was inspired by two of my sisters and a niece who gave their hair for cancer victims. I was kind of sick of my hair anyway, and so I went for it.
I bought the yarn for this cowl back in April of 2013, so it was time for it to get made. The pattern is called 'A Very Braidy Cowl' and is available as a free Ravelry download. I made one for one of my sisters a few years ago.
The yarn I used is Debbie Bliss Cash Merino Aran in Mustard. I ordered it online from Webbs. It is nice, soft, and warm.
I think my little Miss M. is planning on borrowing it when she can.
I'll be back with more to share soon.

Happy Birthday Mrs. B.
Four years ago I started sending out handmade birthday presents to my sisters, starting with Mrs. B. Well her birthday has rolled around again. I asked her if there was anything she wanted, but she said to surprise her. I went with this 'A Very Braidy Cowl' pattern. I knit it up in Lion Brands wool-ease in the Dark Rose Heather colourway. I'm totally in love with this pattern. It's made with really big cables that give it it's distinctive look. I used a live cast on and Kitchener stitched it together.
I want, no, need one of my own! So now I'm on the look our for the right colour for me. I'm very fond of mustard.
Thankfully, her birthday present arrive on time and she is already wearing her new cowl. Happy birthday Mrs. B. I love you.
